The many years of working with the handicapped, has given us experience in this field and we have seen many positive results. These positive results can be seen i.e.
by better developed socializing skills, a good nature and temperament within the Home. Process consists of work, occupational, speech, psychotherapy and medicamental
therapy. The essence of work at the Home is work therapy, which showed itself as an excellent method for this kind of mentally challenged children and youth.
Work therapy
- better adaptation on conditions within the Home (daily regime),
- reduction of medication needed,
- reduction of auto-aggression and less destructive behavior,
- improves work skills,
- leads to better socialization.
Occupational therapy
- Focus on function, makes OT an essential component in the treatment process for mental health.,
- Occupational therapists are concerned with how people carry out daily life activities,
- Provide goal directed activities to help patients learn new skills, maintain level of skill and master adaptive habits,
- Therapists consider which skills are deficits and remedy these deficits,
